How We Collect Your Information
Directly From You
When you make a purchase, create an account, sign up for our email list, fill out a popup or preference form, contact us with a question, or interact with us in our physical store.
Automatically Through Our Website
When you visit patchedworks.com, we and our service providers automatically collect certain device and usage data through cookies and similar tracking technologies. This includes the Meta (Facebook) pixel, which tracks page visits, product views, and purchase activity to help us measure ad performance and build advertising audiences.
We use tracking pixels from several platforms, including Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Google & YouTube, Pinterest, and Klaviyo. Each collects data about your browsing and purchase behavior to help us measure performance and deliver relevant advertising.
Through Third-Party Platforms
If you interact with our products through Facebook Shop, Instagram Shop, or AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, those platforms may collect and share data with us or independently process your information under their own privacy policies. We receive order and contact data from purchases initiated through these channels.
From Our Service Providers
Our tools and integrations — including Klaviyo and Shopify — may collect or process data on our behalf as part of delivering our services to you.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
Order Fulfillment & Customer Service
Processing your purchases, arranging shipping, handling returns and exchanges, sending order confirmations and shipping notifications, and responding to your questions and support requests.
Email Marketing & Newsletters
We use Klaviyo and Shopify Email to send promotional emails, product announcements, seasonal campaigns, and educational content. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We may still send transactional emails (order updates, receipts) even after you unsubscribe from marketing.
Customer Segmentation & Personalization
We segment our customer list based on purchase history, browsing behavior, and engagement (for example: VIP customers, lapsed buyers, or customers interested in specific fabric lines). This allows us to send more relevant communications and personalize product recommendations.
Advertising & Lookalike Audiences
We use the Meta pixel and customer data to run targeted Facebook and Instagram advertising, including retargeting customers who have visited our site or viewed products, and building lookalike audiences to reach new potential customers. You can opt out of this use of your data (see Your Rights & Choices below).
Analytics & Business Improvement
We use analytics tools, including inventory and sales analytics connected to Shopify, to understand how customers shop with us and to improve our product selection, website experience, and marketing.
AI-Assisted Content Creation
We use AI writing tools (such as ChatGPT or similar tools) to assist with drafting marketing copy, email content, and product descriptions. When using these tools, we do not input personally identifiable customer data. These tools are used for internal content workflows only.
Security, Fraud Prevention & Legal Compliance
Authenticating accounts, detecting and preventing fraud, complying with legal obligations, responding to lawful requests from authorities, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve our website, measure marketing performance, and deliver relevant advertising.
The main tracking technologies in use on patchedworks.com include:
• Shopify cookies — essential for cart functionality, checkout, and account sessions
• Klaviyo tracking — tracks email opens, link clicks, and website visits by email subscribers to measure campaign performance
• Meta pixel — tracks page views, product views, add-to-cart events, and purchases to measure ad performance and enable retargeting and lookalike audience advertising on Facebook and Instagram
● Google & YouTube pixel — tracks site visits and conversions to measure Google ad performance and enable remarketing through Google Ads and YouTube
● Pinterest pixel — tracks site visits and conversions to measure Pinterest ad performance and enable audience targeting on Pinterest
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our website. You can also opt out of ad tracking directly through each platform: Meta at facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads, Google at adssettings.google.com, and Pinterest at pinterest.com/settings/privacy.
We do not currently use TikTok or other ad tracking beyond the four platforms listed above. If this changes, we will update this policy to reflect it.
Who We Share Your Information With
We do not sell your personal information. However, we may share information with advertising partners such as Meta for marketing purposes as described above. We share it only in the following circumstances:
Shopify
As our ecommerce platform, Shopify processes your order and payment data, stores your account information, and handles core website functionality. Shopify may also process your data to improve their platform and services across merchants. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy at privacy.shopify.com for full details.
Klaviyo
We use Klaviyo as our email marketing platform. When you sign up for our emails or make a purchase, your name, email address, and purchase behavior are shared with Klaviyo to enable email marketing, segmentation, and personalization. Klaviyo’s privacy policy is available at klaviyo.com/legal/privacy.

We use the Google & YouTube pixel to track site visits and measure the performance of Google Ads campaigns. This data is processed by Google LLC under their privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can manage Google’s use of your data for advertising at adssettings.google.com.
We use the Pinterest pixel to track site visits and measure Pinterest ad campaign performance. This data is processed by Pinterest, Inc. under their privacy policy at policy.pinterest.com. You can manage Pinterest’s use of your data at pinterest.com/settings/privacy.
Shipping & Fulfillment Providers
We share your shipping address and order details with our shipping carriers to deliver your orders.
Analytics & Inventory Tools
We use analytics and inventory management tools connected to Shopify (such as Stocky and Matrixify) to analyze sales data and manage products. These tools access aggregated or operational data and are bound by data processing agreements.
Third-Party Platforms & AI Tools
If you discover or purchase our products through Facebook Shop, Instagram Shop, or an AI-powered tool such as ChatGPT, those platforms operate under their own privacy policies and may independently process your information. We receive order and contact data from purchases completed through these channels.
Legal & Business Transfers
We may share your information to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful legal process, protect our rights or the rights of others, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition.
Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us at julie@patchedworks.com and we will delete it promptly.
We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.
Security & Data Retention
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use secure channels when communicating sensitive information with us.
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or de-identify it.
